We have Technology

Hello, My Potential Subscribers
The World Wide Web is one of the most remarkable achievements of our time. Without the internet and related technologies, we would still struggle in the Stone Age. Proficiency in computer usage is now a prerequisite for most jobs and as technology continues to advance, so does the progress of humanity. Integrating technology into the educational environment offers significant benefits for students. In my opinion, about 60 percent of the entire essay-writing process is research. Without the support of the internet and technology, this aspect of essay writing would be significantly prolonged. I've observed a considerable integration of technology in educational settings. For example, LAUSD has made the strategic decision to embrace technology in the classroom by providing each student with an electronic device for class and homework. Accessing the internet during the writing process is invaluable, and teaching students how to conduct proper research positions them ahead of the curve. There are going to be tons of people out in the world who are going to say technology and all it has to offer is no good. That it will open us into a world where humans will no longer be vital. However, there are tons of useful resources on the internet, and I feel it would be a waste not to use them to your advantage. In this world, people are not created equal. Most people don’t have a safety net to land on like some others do. Not everyone has the financial stability to do things for fun. Equality is something politicians spout for votes and publicity, but I know equality is non-existent. There are tools in the world that you can use to get a leg up but use them responsibly. Honor and integrity are all we have, so do not give anyone a chance to question it.

  1. Hello from your number one subscriber!

I wish it was mandatory in all work places to take a technology literacy course. I have worked with too many people that make more than me that don't have the slightest clue how to use simple applications.

I totally agree with you on the research portion of writing. We have technology in the palm of our hands why not use it, rather than spending hours sorting through old books.

I was interested in reading your insights in LAUSDs decision to integrate tech into schools. This can definitely become a political topic as well. Many think that integrating technology such as providing laptops for students is a great idea. But what happens when those freedoms become out of reach items for certain areas. Underprivileged areas will soon fall behind. This can prove to make life even harder for those underprivileged areas. Only improving the higher income areas that will have access to the latest tech.

I am curious how we, as a community, could respond to those concerns. I wonder if you have already thought about these sorts of concerns seeing that you want to go into the educational field. Thank you for the post and inspiring good conversation I'm sure you will be an amazing educator one day!
